Legal Assistant
Gabriela is a bilingual Legal Assistant fluent in English and Spanish, helping ensure effective communication with clients. She supports in Criminal cases, including criminal defense cases in state and federal courts. Her responsibilities include preparing legal documents, drafting pleadings, orders, and letters, and coordinating trial preparation with clients, attorneys, and court staff.
Gabriela is a licensed attorney in Mexico and graduated from the University of Coahuila in 2019. Before joining ILF, she practiced law in Mexico, focusing on criminal defense and family cases, and also taught law at Universidad Tecnológica de Saltillo. In 2022, she earned a certificate in American Legal English from the Lingua Center at Florida International University.
Since moving to the United States in 2021, Gabriela has been active in her community by volunteering with immigration organizations connected to her church. In 2023, she began serving as a lead interviewer and interpreter with Restoration Immigration Legal Aid in Arlington, VA.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach and traveling with her husband and their cat, Nacho, to visit family.
