Madison Howell
Attorney
In 2025, The Irving Law Firm welcomed Madison Howell to the practice. Her work centers on criminal defense and civil litigation, where she assists in representing retained clients, providing court-appointed indigent defense, and addressing civil disputes in both Circuit Court and General District Court.
Madison is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2021, along with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Classical Languages. During her undergraduate years, she participated in several honor societies, volunteered at a local free health clinic, and contributed her time to The Ronald McDonald House.
She went on to graduate from The Washington and Lee School of Law in 2024. While there, Madison served as an editor for the German Law Journal, led the Health Law Association as President, and sat on the board of the Women’s Law Students Organization. She also worked in the school’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, assisting individuals who needed help disputing IRS claims.
Throughout law school, Madison developed experience across various legal areas. Her interest in civil litigation grew through a 2023 externship with the Office of the Solicitor at the United States Department of Labor. Before joining The Irving Law Firm, she continued to focus on civil litigation work.
In her free time, Madison enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling with her husband.
